Varus and Lucian are the most-played ADCs in the 2024

The information in this post has been updated for 2024.

As the 2024 LEC Winter Split enters its final series, G2 Esports and MAD Lions are gearing up for an epic clash. The league’s new format promises a thrilling spectacle for both players and fans, with surprising and energizing draft picks.

However, despite the playoffs featuring two champions that have been prioritized in team compositions, they have not fared well. Varus and Lucian marksmen have been played six times each, but only one of them has brought success to their respective teams.

Varus has an impressive 76.9 percent ban rate throughout the playoffs, thanks to his early-game prowess and superior poke and chip damage. But he has only won one game in the playoffs with G2 Esports’ AD carry Steven “Hans Sama” Liv. Varus is vulnerable to crowd control, with no way to escape enemy engagements except for flash.

Lucian has not won a single game in the LEC playoffs. While typically dominant in lane when paired with Nami, his early-game control has been lackluster this time around. Against engage supports like Rell or Nautilus, or a duo with high burst, Lucian can withstand a lot of damage without needing to recall or consume too many health potions. However, his lockdown abilities may eventually result in enemy champions being taken down.
